Winchelsea School,Poole

After a successful bid for Government funding to improve buildings and provide new facilities for over 1500 pupils in the Rossmore area of Poole, the proposals put forward included the replacement of Winchelsea School by centres located at other schools in the area.

Following a questionaire which found that 78% of parents favoured keeping Winchelsea School as it is, a petition with nearly 5000 signatures and many local meetings and demonstrations, the immediate threat has been lifted, but the future remains unclear.
